CINS data published for 2015, 8 August 2016

News August 8 / 2016    12:00 am

CINS – the Cargo Incident Notification System established in 2011 by five of the world’s largest shipping lines has published data on its analysis of cargo incidents during 2015.

The recorded incidents took place mainly on vessels but also in ports. Leakage and mis-declarations caused the majority of incidents but there was a worrying increase in fires. The analysis is mainly, but not exclusively, of dangerous goods shipments.

CINS is a database system, developed by Exis Technologies, to capture key data from the container supply chain. It was produced in response to the increasing volume of incidents that regularly disrupt operations and endanger lives, property or the environment.
