Product Overview

Hazcheck Detect is an API based, integrated, cargo screening solution which receives and scans Customer Booking data to assist in the identification of misdeclared and undeclared dangerous goods (DG). Hazcheck Detect uses constantly evolving¬† libraries of rules. Bookings are checked for suspicious details, flagging ‘hits’ to the customer within seconds.

Cargo items may be screened at any time in the life of a booking, recognising any changes to booking information. This allows almost instant decisions to be made on the DG nature of cargo units.

Undeclared DG – Identifies cargo that is not declared as DG; suspicious items are identified that should be declared as DG.

Misdeclared DG – checks focus on cargo which is declared as DG, but may not be declared as the correct DG.

Hazcheck Detect is in use with a number of large container lines including Maersk Line. Maersk Line submit 13 million screenings a month, generating around 500 ‘hits’ a day. Maersk estimate Hazcheck Detect helps to identify and prevent approximately 50 incorrectly declared containers a week being loaded onto vessel.¬† Prior to Hazcheck Detect, manual systems may only identify such cargoes after loading and perhaps sailing of vessel.

As more customers adopt Hazcheck Detect, libraries of rules are being refined to reflect a more consistent approach throughout the industry to cargo screening. The same rules and policies may be applied across the major shipping alliances operating globally.

  • Features

Almost Real-time and Continuous Screening – Screen the same data set at any stage of the booking process and receive almost instant feedback

Complex Queries – Most queries are viable using the query syntax, but some may have additional complexity, or may require the ability to lookup external data, such as DG info, substance indexes, etc.

Rules Libraries –¬†Industry groups can agree to share standard libraries with common terms.
